How does the locker actually work?
You book online and we send you a QR code and a locker location. Turn up at the venue, tap the QR on the locker, an empty locker opens, drop your bag in and close the door. Come back with the same QR to open the locker and grab your bag. No staff, no counter, no paperwork.
Is my bag really insured to £3,000?
Yes: £3,000 per bag included on every booking, no fee, no upgrade needed. Extended cover for expensive items (cameras, laptops, sports gear) can be added at checkout.
What if I lose my QR code?
Your booking is tied to your phone number and email, so we can resend the QR any time from your account or by replying to your confirmation email. If your phone's died, our 24/7 support team can verify you and open the locker remotely.
How big are the lockers? Will my bag fit?
Three sizes: Small (day bag / laptop), Medium (cabin case / duffel), Large (full-size suitcase / ski bag). All at the same £4/bag/day, so you don't get charged more for a bigger bag.
What doesn't fit?
Bikes, surfboards, prams, pushchairs and anything longer than about 80 cm won't go in a locker. For those we'd honestly point you to an attended storage service. Two cabin cases will share one Large locker (£6 a day for the pair).
Can I book on the day?
Yes. If there's a free locker at the venue you pick, you can book right up to the moment you turn up. You'll see live availability on the map.
What are the opening hours?
Each Luggaway locker sits inside a host venue and is available during that venue's opening hours. Every location shows exact times when you search, so you can pick one that suits your day, from early cafés to late-night bars. Sites open round the clock carry a 24/7 badge.
What if the venue is shut when I come back?
It shouldn't be: the exact hours are on screen before you pay, and we check them with every venue. If we've got them wrong and you can't reach your bag, the booking is free and our 24/7 support team will get the door open for you the moment the venue reopens. If you're simply running late, extend from your booking link and come back the next day.
Can I cancel or change my booking?
Yes. Cancel free any time until your drop-off time, refunded to your card. Once your drop-off window has started the booking is yours to use, and you can still extend, add bags or move to another location from your booking link.
Can I open the locker more than once?
As many times as you like, at no extra cost. Nip back for a jumper, drop off the shopping, swap a laptop for a book: same QR, same locker, every time until your booking ends.
Can someone else collect my bag?
Yes. Forward the unlock link from your confirmation to a friend or partner and their phone can open the locker too. You'll see a timestamped open event in your email whenever the door is used, so you always know what happened.
What does a short stay cost?
£2.50 per bag for up to 3 hours, ideal for a long lunch, a meeting or a quick look round the shops. Go past 3 hours and it simply becomes a normal £4 day rate; you're never charged both.
Do you do group, event or hotel codes?
We do. A Group locker takes 4 bags on one code for £12 a day. Event organisers can get a code for their crowd, and hotels can hand check-out guests a code with the storage billed to the hotel monthly. See Codes & groups or email hello@luggaway.com.
Why cheaper than attended storage?
Attended storage means staff handle every bag, and that time gets priced in. Luggaway lockers are self-service: you unlock, you drop, you close. Nobody else touches your bag. That saved labour cost comes straight off your price.

Uncollected bags
Life happens. If your booking ends and the bag is still inside, we keep charging £4 a day for up to 7 days and keep emailing you. After that we move the bag to secure storage so the locker can be used again. Bags still unclaimed after 28 days are disposed of. Reply to any of our emails and we'll sort a collection.
