Station guide

Arriving at Paddington

London Paddington is the Great Western Railway terminus, with trains west to Reading, Oxford, Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, Devon and Cornwall. The Heathrow Express runs non-stop to the airport in about fifteen minutes, and the Elizabeth line offers a cheaper, slower route to Heathrow as well as a fast link east through the West End to Liverpool Street and Canary Wharf.

For the Underground, the Bakerloo line goes straight to Oxford Circus and Charing Cross, and the Elizabeth line reaches Bond Street and Tottenham Court Road in minutes. That matters for luggage storage because a locker a few minutes from Paddington is a locker a few minutes from most of the city.

With your bags stored, the easiest things to do within about fifteen minutes on foot are Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens, which start a short walk south of the station and are ideal for stretching your legs between trains, and the canal basin and Little Venice a few minutes to the north, with waterside cafés and boat trips along the Regent's Canal.

One practical note on timing: late-evening Great Western services thin out after about 11pm and the Heathrow Express finishes around midnight, so a late-night collection is best planned around the host venue's hours rather than the last train. The host venue's hours are always shown before you pay, so pick a location whose closing time sits comfortably after your planned collection.

Nearest station exits

The main exits lead onto Praed Street through the Underground concourse and onto Eastbourne Terrace on the west side. The canal-side exit at the rear of the station opens onto Paddington Basin.

Once a locker near Paddington is live, this card names the venue, the exit to use and the walking time.

Questions

Luggage storage at Paddington: your questions

Station-specific answers. The general FAQ on the homepage covers cancellations, what you can store and what happens to uncollected bags.

Where exactly are the lockers near Paddington?

Inside host venues a short walk from the station: cafés, bars, hotels and shops with a spare corner. We are signing the founding venues now and only publish an address once a locker is installed and taking bookings, so check back here or join the launch list. Founding venues are being signed around Praed Street, the canal basin and Bayswater.

How much does luggage storage near Paddington cost?

£4 per bag per day, whatever the size of the bag, with £3,000 per-bag cover included and no booking fee. A short stay of up to three hours is £2.50 a bag. Two cabin cases can share one large locker for £6 a day.

Can I leave my bag overnight at Paddington?

Yes. A booking that runs past midnight is simply charged as another day at £4 a bag, and the bag stays inside the locker the whole time. You collect during the host venue's opening hours, which are shown before you pay, and sites open round the clock carry a 24/7 badge.

When is the last time I can collect my bag at Paddington?

Whenever the host venue closes; the hours are on the location card and in your confirmation. Bear in mind that late-evening Great Western services thin out after about 11pm and the Heathrow Express finishes around midnight, so a late-night collection is best planned around the host venue's hours rather than the last train.

Which Tube and train lines serve Paddington?

The Underground station is on the Bakerloo, Circle, District and Hammersmith & City lines, plus the Elizabeth line. For mainline services, London Paddington is the Great Western Railway terminus, with trains west to Reading, Oxford, Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, Devon and Cornwall.

When do lockers near Paddington open?

Booking opens in September 2026, London first, with station areas ahead of everywhere else. Join the launch list on this page and we will email you the day lockers near Paddington take their first booking.
